Your Turn…

The game is simple.  I toss the little ball of tinfoil into the walking wheel.  Princess either reaches in and tosses it out or steps into the wheel and spins it out.  She then gets out, sits down and waits.  Repeat.

I think she wishes I would hurry up.  The photography gets in the way of the rhythm.

Do your cats use the walking wheel! I’ve always wanted to get one, but not sure mine would be brave enough to use it.

I first got the walking wheel (small one pictured here) when I got my first Bengal. He was SO HIGH ENERGY (ZhaZee) that I needed to find something he could do inside to burn that off (as he had to be primarily an indoor kitty). When I got the shipment I never had to teach them how to use it, it came out of the box and he was in it immediately, Princess the same loved it right away. When I asked the breeder if there had been one at their place that they had used before I was told no. ZhaZee was a big cat and the small wheel wasn’t useable for him with anything but his front paws (he would leave his hind end on the ground and run with just his front) so I bought the BIG wheel. They both would use it constantly. When Rusty came into the house the wheel scared him. I haven’t been able to get him to use either one, not sure if it still scares him or if he thinks it is Princesses property. Long winded way of saying… I really don’t know. Two out of three cats that have been around since I got it (but all Bengals) have loved and used it. Rusty is such a nervous kitty that there are many things that still frighten him. I would think any kitty that has energy and wants to move could be introduced to it over time though – I haven’t given up on Rusty learning to use it.
