Leo Loves Marion

My mother (Marion) in the early 1930s had a rather “unusual” kitty that loved her to distraction.  HukMarionParkerCougarLeo1930s.jpg

This is Leo leaning against her and purring.  They were the first ever cougars in captivity and became ambassadors for changing opinions about how “vicious” the mountain lion was not.

What a great picture! And your mom looks a VERY youthful 30s.

Whoops – it made sense to me when I wrote it… the photo was taken in the early 1930s… my mom in this photo is much younger than that (Thanks, and I’ve corrected that in the text)

I will be forever grateful that you shared your mother’s story with me. I think about the your mom and her “cat” often. ~Colleen
